Hong Kong is a very easy city to get around, but not so with a surfboard in hand. You may be able to get a 5’11 short board into a taxi, but any longer and you may be stuck. Always travel with a clean board sock so your wax won’t melt on the cabbies seat. Gogo van is worth a shot, these goods cans can transport longboards, seat 4 people, and the drivers should be, according to company rules, be efficient and courteous. You should have goods to carry, ie a surfboard, they are not people carriers like a taxi service. Download the app, plug in the route and size of goods, and expect a call from a driver in 5 minutes. Getting to Big Wave Bay is not that difficult.
Board rentals are available in Big Wave Bay. Ho Lok AKA Coca Cola, run by “Big Brother” is a cool place with boards, wetsuits, lockers, food, cold as ice beer and a positive vibe. Be there or be square, And say hi from me!
