Year 2002. Researching boards suitable for my wife to begin to surf on, I came across the McCoy website. With Geoff's promise of extra volume, float, stability, paddle power and fun, I ordered a 7'2 "All Round" Nugget.
Can one board do it all? A paddling machine, not only does this board catch almost any ripple available, she comes into her own as the swell picks up. Fast, smooth and highly maneuverable, this extremely fun and versatile board really is an "All Round" board. From small mushy beach breaks to hollow over head lines, she can handle it all. Now in 2010, after 8 years of hard use, she is still going strong, thanks to the quality materials and workmanship used in these boards!
In 2004 a second board was ordered a 6'2 x 20 x 2 3/4 "All Round" thruster. This board, after 6 years of fairly heavy use, from multiple surf tips, to various Typhoon swells and the crowded conditions down at the local break, she is still a go to board, great in all conditions, paddling, speed, barrels, once again still in top condition due to superior glassing, materials and of course workmanship.
Hence, with the confidence in these great boards, I have been very fortunate to be able to represent Geoff' McCoy Surfboards in Hong Kong.
All the McCoy boards are hand shaped in Byron Bay, one by one, designed specifically for the customer. Only the finest materials are used, leading to a board that will be far more durable and will be an absolute blast to use.
